Cold Springs Creek Hike and Invasive Plant Removal!
Hi! Thanks for inquiring and hopefully registering to come to this watershed restoration event!
Come hit the trails in an event that welcomes QTBIPOC+ and QTBIPOC+ allies and provides a space for us to coexist, network, and educate one another on topics ranging from personal experiences and environmental intersectionality to lessons on native plants, fire ecology, and protecting our waterways.
This event is a partnership with the Watershed Stewards Program and the Los Padres Forest Watch. Both are organizations that focus on land stewardship and conservation with the goals of benefiting both people and planet.
This event is an easy to moderate 2 mile hike (4 miles out and back spaced over a 4 hour period) and invasive plant removal (cape ivy easily removed by hand) that is based in cultivating a space of inclusion in outdoor recreation, trail maintenance, and watershed restoration. All necessary equipment will be provided and staff leading the event will all be wilderness first aid and CPR certified.
All levels of experience warmly welcome!
* the flower featured above is a rare fire poppy found on the trail we will be hiking!! woo!!
